7 constituency candidates disqualified by the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court’s Election Case Division has revoked the candidacies of seven constituency candidates standing in seven provinces, after they were declared unqualified to contest the election, according to the Office of the Election Commission.

The disqualification of the seven candidates comes a week ahead of the February 8th Election Day.

The EC’s Office advised voters not to cast ballots for these seven candidates. If they do, their votes will be declared invalid.

The seven unqualified constituency candidates are:

• Chalong Saengratmekhin, a candidate of the Kla Tham party standing in Constituency 13 of Nakhon Ratchasima.
• Chayanan Jindajia, a candidate of the Pheu Thai party standing in Constituency 3 of Ratchaburi.
• Ratchapong Soisuwan, a candidate of the People’s party standing in Constituency 3 of Tak.
• Pasit Khamchai, a candidate of the Kla Tham party standing in Constituency 7 of Chaiyaphum.
• Cholasith Kaewyarat, a candidate of the Kla Tham party standing in Constituency 2 of Phuket.
• Wanmai Songsilsa-ard, a candidate of the Palang Pracharath party standing in Constituency 4 of Rayong.
• Kitsanath Inphrom, a candidate of the Kla Tham party standing in Constituency 3 of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
