In a tragic discovery in Nonthaburi’s Bang Bua Thong district this morning, a husband, wife and their seven-year-old daughter were found dead inside their townhouse.
Police suspect carbon monoxide poisoning after a charcoal oven was discovered in their bedroom.
Officers from the Bang Bua Thong Police Station were alerted to the incident at around 9.40am on a housing estate in the district. They worked with forensic pathologists from the Central Institute of Forensic Science at the Ministry of Justice and forensic officers in inspecting the scene.
Upon entering a second-floor bedroom, authorities discovered the bodies of a 31-year-old man, a 32-year-old woman and a seven-year-old girl lying together on the bed.
The air conditioning was still running. At the foot of the bed, officers found a clay stove containing burnt-out fuel.
An initial examination of the room revealed no signs of a struggle or ransacking.
The 31-year-old husband was employed as a civil engineering technician, while his 32-year-old wife worked as a legal officer.
The alarm was raised by a colleague of the woman, who told police that the deceased female had failed to show up for work and had been unreachable since yesterday.
Growing increasingly concerned for her safety, she decided to visit the house. Upon noticing anomalies at the property, she immediately contacted the authorities.
The bodies have been taken for a detailed post-mortem, to determine an official cause of death, while forensic officers continue to gather evidence at the scene.
