New MRT Blue Line fares to take effect on July 3, from Bt17 to Bt44
The Royal Gazette has officially published the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand’s (MRTA) new fares for the Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line, commonly known as the ‘Blue Line’.
The revised fares, ranging from 17 to 44 baht, are scheduled to take effect from July 3.
According to yesterday’s announcement, the new pricing structure complies with the terms of the concession agreement for the MRT Blue Line project.
The update supersedes the previous regulations implemented in 2024 regarding fares, collection methods and travel exemptions.
Under the new pricing scheme, a single-station trip will cost 17 baht. The fare increases progressively by 2 to 3 baht per station. Two stations will cost 20 baht, three stations 22 baht, four stations 25 baht and five stations 27 baht.
Commuters travelling six stations will be charged 29 baht, seven stations 32 baht, eight stations 34 baht and nine stations 37 baht. For longer journeys, the fare is set at 39 baht for 10 stations and 42 baht for 11 stations.
The maximum fare is capped at 44 baht for trips spanning 12 or more stations.
