Body of unidentified man found floating in Nan River
The Phetkasem Foundation confirmed today that the remains of a man, estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old, was retrieved from the engorged Nan River in Tha Wang Pha district after being spotted by local residents.
Upon receiving the alert, the foundation’s disaster response and water rescue team rushed to the scene and recovered the body from the strong currents. The deceased was an as yet unidentified male.
Rescue workers are coordinating with local police and a forensic pathologist to have an autopsy conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
Authorities are also working to verify the victim's identity and locate his relatives, as no identification documents were found.
This discovery marks the third death linked to the severe flooding currently impacting Nan province, where several areas remain under close watch due to continuous run-offs and rapidly flowing river waters.
