Four Israelis arrested on Pha-ngan Island allegedly for organising a drug party
Thai tourist police raided a luxurious villa on Pha-ngan Island in Surat Thani early this morning and arrested four Israelis, after they found several illegal narcotics, including ‘Labubu’ ecstasy (MDMA), in their possession.
Acting on a tipoff from local residents, who complained about loud music and frequent visits by strangers to the premises, police became suspicious that some illegal activity might be taking place and secured a search warrant.
During the search of the house, police found several types of illegal narcotics, including cocaine and ecstasy tablets, scattered across tables and on the floor. More drugs were also found and seized.
Police allege that the four Israelis, aged from 27-29, organised the party, catering only to foreign tourists.
The suspects were taken to a police station on the island to face charges of possession of and trafficking in illicit drugs. Police said the suspects will have their visas revoked and will be blacklisted.
‘Labubu’ ecstasy is a dangerous, illicit and often lethal synthetic drug cocktail that emerged in Thailand around 2024-25. It is specifically designed to resemble the popular ‘Labubu’ toy character in an attempt to target young people.
