Probe sought into meeting between Thaksin and former police chief

A former Democrat MP has called for an investigation into reports of a meeting between a former national police chief and Thaksin Shinawatra during the latter’s stay in the Police General Hospital.

Theptai Seanapong said that retired Pol Gen Sereepisuth Temeeyaves had told at least two media outlets that he visited Thaksin, who was receiving medical treatment on the 14th floor of Police General Hospital during his incarceration.

During the meeting, Sereepisuth claims that Thaksin asked him to withdraw his petition to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) against PM Srettha Thavisin, for his alleged abuse of power in appointing Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol as the new national police chief.

Sereepisuth told the media that he informed Thaksin that the case was already in the hands of the NACC, but Thaksin told him that let him “handle” the issue with the NACC.

“(Former PM) Khun Yingluck also telephoned me making the same request as her brother (Thaksin),” Sereepisuth said.

Based on Sereepisuth’s account, Theptai claimed that this means that Thaksin was not suffering from the grave sickness, which he claimed as the reason for transferring from a Corrections Department hospital to the Police General Hospital.

“This also means that Thaksin and Yingluck are influential figures behind this government. They are the real controllers and owners of this government,” Theptai wrote on his Facebook page.

Srettha is simply an employee of a company in the Shinawatra family, Theptai added.
