1,000 inventions to take center stage at Thailand Inventors’ Day 2025

The event, organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), runs from February 2-6 at BITEC Bangna and celebrates the ingenuity of both Thai and international inventors.

This 26th edition commemorates the contributions of King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, known as the “Father of Thai Invention,” particularly for his development of the “Low-Speed Surface Aerator.”
The event also showcases 100 inventions by Thais that have won awards internationally as well as 470 inventions from 24 countries including Canada, China, Croatia, India, Iran, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
Held on the theme “Thai Inventions and Innovations: A National Endeavor,” the event is designed to showcase Thai creativity on the global stage and facilitate collaboration among inventors and researchers.
“This national event serves as a platform to highlight the creativity of Thai inventors while facilitating knowledge exchange between Thai and international inventors,” the NRCT states. The event also seeks to inspire the next generation of inventors and aligns with Thailand’s national strategy for research and innovation.
Visitors can explore a diverse range of inventions, including:
-A study of plant species decorated with Buranakhata pot designs in Lanna art
-Bio-based printing ink and coating
-A simple detection kit for Streptococcus agalactiae in tilapia
-Innovative eco-ceramic products made from green mussel shells
-Natural oil-absorbing foam made from natural rubber and cellulose nanocrystals
-Biodegradable absorbent for adult diapers
-Orthodontic screws with a fine shot peening process
-An oral hygiene care kit
-Soil test kits for rapid analysis of key nutrients
-Vegan leather made from pineapple leaf fibers
-Innovations in dietary supplements and cosmetics

In addition to the exhibitions, the event will feature a National Research Award Ceremony, recognizing outstanding researchers across various disciplines. The 2025 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEx 2025) will also be held in conjunction with Inventors' Day.
Other highlights include the I-New Gen Award 2025, an Innovation and Product Marketplace, and over 100 talks and workshops on topics ranging from invention development to career opportunities in research and innovation.
