สำหรับบ้านเราคงไม่อินกับวันผี ๆ อย่างวันฮาโลวีนกันสักเท่าไหร่ แต่ถ้าเป็นเด็ก ๆ ในสหรัฐอเมริกา ไอร์แลนด์ สหราชอาณาจักร แคนาดา ออสเตรเลีย นิวซีแลนด์ รวมถึงประเทศอื่น ๆ ในทวีปยุโรป วันที่ 31 ตุลาคมของทุกปีถือว่าเป็นวันสำคัญมาก เพราะเด็ก ๆ จะได้ออกมาเล่นสนุก เฉลิมฉลองเทศกาลฮาโลวีนหรือวันปล่อยผีกัน
กิจกรรมวันฮาโลวีนของเด็กแต่ละประเทศจะต่างกันเล็กน้อย แต่ที่เหมือนกันก็คือการเล่น Trick or Treat (หลอกหรือเลี้ยง) ซึ่งเด็ก ๆ จะแต่งตัวเป็นภูตผีปีศาจเดินไปตามบ้านต่าง ๆ เพื่อขอขนม (นิยมให้ลูกกวาด) และเมื่อเจ้าของบ้านให้แล้ว เด็ก ๆ ก็จะร้องเพลง หรือถ้าตามประเพณีดั้งเดิมก็จะสวดภาวนาให้เจ้าของบ้าน หรืออุทิศแด่วิญญาณผู้ล่วงลับไปแล้วด้วย
นอกจากกิจกรรมแล้ว สิ่งที่เป็นไฮไลท์ขาดไม่ได้สำหรับวันฮาโลวีนก็คือการตกแต่งบ้าน การแกะสลักฟักทองเป็นโคมไฟ เรียกว่า แจ๊ก-โอ"-แลนเทิร์น (Jack-o Lantern) การแต่งตัวเป็นผีเพื่อให้เข้ากับสีสันของวันฮาโลวีน ซึ่งนอกจากเด็ก ๆ จะนิยมแต่งแล้ว น้องหมาสัตว์เลี้ยงแสนรู้ก็พลอยโดนแต่งตัวให้เข้ากับเทศกาลไปด้วย มาดูความน่ารักของน้องหมาในเทศกาลผี ๆ แบบนี้กันดีกว่า
