India's GDP estimated to grow 7.4 pct in FY 2025-26

NEW DELHI, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- India's real gross domestic product (GDP) during the financial year 2025-26 (April 1, 2025-March 31, 2026) is estimated to grow 7.4 percent, said the federal government on Wednesday.

The figure is up from the growth rate of 6.5 percent in the preceding financial year, according to the data released by the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The country's nominal GDP was estimated to grow 8 percent in FY 2025-26, according to the data.

Buoyant growth in the services sector has been identified as a major driver of growth, according to the NSO. ■
