HONG KONG, July 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Monotype, a global leader in type design and technology, today announced that its highly anticipated Global Brand Talks series will kick off its Asia tour in Central, Hong Kong, on July 23, 2025. Centered around the theme "Designing for Human Connection," this event will bring together international and local creative leaders, brand strategists, and design pioneers to explore innovative approaches for brands to forge deeper, more authentic emotional connections in today's AI- and algorithm-driven business landscape.

Committed to advancing font innovation and crafting distinctive visual languages, Monotype empowers brands to stand out on the global stage. This event aims to foster creative exchange and examine emerging design trends and innovation opportunities that enable brands to build lasting competitive advantages.

The program features distinguished speakers, including :

  • Akira Kobayashi, internationally acclaimed type designer and recipient of the Type Directors Club (TDC) Medal. He has designed over 50 typefaces, including Monotype's first original Japanese font, and brings extensive experience collaborating with global brands such as Sony, Panasonic, and Tencent.
  • Graham Sturt, Senior Creative Director at Monotype. He leads the company's global design team and contributes deep international expertise in brand typography.
  • Robin Hui, Chief Typographer and Production Manager at Monotype. With profound knowledge of Chinese type design and regional character styles, Hui has played a key role in developing Monotype Hei, Song, and Kai typeface families and expanding Monotype's font offerings across Asia.
  • Ryota Doi, Senior Type Designer at Monotype. He is instrumental in bridging Japanese and Latin typeface design, contributing to Monotype's first original Japanese font, Tazugane Gothic, and developing typefaces for prominent clients such as JR Trains.
  • Jazlyn Fung, a Melbourne-based designer originally from Hong Kong. Her work often draws from personal stories and experiences, resulting in playful, expressive typefaces full of character.

Together, these experts will engage in a dynamic conversations exploring how typography shapes human-centered brand experiences, emotional brand strategy, and Hong Kong's unique cultural identity—offering fresh insights and inspiration to the audience.

The event will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Eaton Club Central, Hong Kong. Sessions will be conducted in English and Cantonese. Admission is free, but seats are limited and registration is required.
