SHANGHAI, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- At the mouth of the Yangtze River lies the "bird paradise" - Chongming Dongtan national nature reserve, Shanghai's first World Natural Heritage site.

From November to March of the following year, it's the perfect time to meet these feathered sprites.

Who would've thought? The migratory bird population here has rapidly increased from 40,000 to 180,000.
