SINGAPORE, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- China's Chen Yiwen clinched her third gold at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships on Saturday, leading a one-two finish with teammate Chen Jia in the women's 3-meter springboard final.

Chen Jia took the early lead after two rounds, holding a slim 2.40-point advantage until Chen Yiwen surged ahead from the third dive and maintained her composure to seal the win with 389.70 points. Chen Jia finished with 356.40 to take silver, while Italy's Chiara Pellacani earned bronze with 323.20.

The victory marked Chen Yiwen's third title in Singapore, following earlier wins in the mixed team and women's synchronized 3m springboard events. It was also her third career world title in the individual discipline.

"I was a bit slow to get into rhythm in the first two rounds," said Chen Yiwen. "But overall, I'm happy with the performance. This win gives me confidence, but I'll keep pushing forward and setting new goals."

Competing at her first world championships, Chen Jia concluded her campaign with one gold and one silver from three events.

"I'm satisfied with my debut," she said. "There are some regrets, but that motivates me to keep improving. In the synchronized event, I felt more relaxed - having an Olympic champion by my side gave me confidence."

Looking ahead, the 20-year-old added: "Without expectations, there's no motivation. I need to think long-term and continue learning."

Earlier in the day, China's 14-year-old Zhao Renjie topped the men's 10m platform preliminaries, with teammate Zhu Zifeng also advancing to the semifinals in fourth.

The 2025 World Aquatics Championships will conclude on Sunday, with the men's 10m platform final closing out the diving competition. ■
