Above & Beyond welcomes Lunar New Year with new oudding gift sets at Hotel Icon

Welcoming the Lunar New Year with a sense of generosity and care, Hotel Icon introduces a considered collection of festive gifts from its Cantonese restaurant, Above & Beyond. The range includes three newly developed New Year puddings, a generously layered abalone poon choi, and a selection of premium tea gift sets, thoughtfully designed for seasonal gifting or for marking the occasion at home. All Lunar New Year gifts are available via the hotel’s eShop, with early-bird privileges offered for orders placed on or before February 8, 2026.

At the heart of the collection are three house-made Lunar New Year puddings, developed by executive chef Chi-ki Wong. Each is presented in an understated gift box and made with an emphasis on balance and texture. Those drawn to classic flavours will appreciate the turnip pudding with conpoy and preserved meat (900g), prepared with premium cured meats, dried scallops and generously cut turnip for a satisfying, savoury depth.

Equally rooted in tradition, the taro pudding with Nuodeng ham and dried shrimp (900g) showcases prized Yunnan ham, valued for its gentle sweetness and depth of flavour. Combined with fragrant dried shrimp and smooth taro, it delivers a layered, aromatic finish that unfolds gradually with each bite.

The brown sugar and Hokkaido Tokachi red bean New Year pudding (900g) leans into sweetness without excess. Made with prized Tokachi red beans from Hokkaido, it delivers a clean, aromatic bean flavour and a softly set, velvety texture. Golden cane sugar is used with restraint, allowing the natural fragrance and sweetness of the beans to come through. Tender and gently moist, it is a classic expression of Lunar New Year tradition, shaped by careful technique rather than indulgence alone.

Beyond puddings, the eShop also offers poon choi for takeaway alongside a selection of festive gifts suited to family gatherings. The prosperity abalone poon choi is assembled with a thoughtful mix of premium ingredients in a rich abalone sauce, including South African abalone (seven pieces per catty), goose web, dried oysters, shiitake mushrooms and chicken, resulting in a dish that is generous, layered and deeply savoury. Long-time favourites such as the Above & Beyond honey walnuts and the house-made Above & Beyond XO sauce are also available, both well known for their depth and balance.

Rounding out the collection is a newly introduced range of premium tea gift boxes, featuring the restaurant’s signature teas. Designed for enjoying at home, they are equally suited to personal gifting or corporate occasions, offering a calm, considered way to mark the season.
