ISLAMABAD, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Monsoon rains and flash floods have left at least 79 people dead and 140 others injured across Pakistan since June 26, the country's disaster management agency said on Monday.

The National Disaster Management Authority reported that the highest number of casualties was recorded in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where 29 people, including 13 children, lost their lives.

Authorities have issued warnings of further rainfall in the coming days and urged residents, particularly those in disaster-prone areas, to take necessary precautions.
