HAIKOU, June 14 (Xinhua) -- China's Hainan Province has terminated its emergency response as Typhoon Wutip continues to weaken and move northward, posing a diminishing threat to the island.

The provincial committee for disaster prevention, reduction and relief announced the decision to lift the Level III typhoon warning and terminate the corresponding flood and typhoon control emergency response as of 5 p.m. on Saturday. The decision was made based on the latest meteorological forecasts, which indicated the storm's reduced intensity.

Multiple cities and counties lifted their typhoon warnings throughout Saturday afternoon. Dongfang City, where the typhoon made landfall, has already downgraded its warning to blue.

Transportation services are resuming. Airports in Haikou and Sanya have begun restoring flights. High-speed railway and suburban trains gradually resumed operations starting Saturday noon. ■
