Celebrate Chinese New Year at Hung Tong, Kerry Hotel Hong Kong
As the Year of the Horse approaches, themes of movement, renewal and forward momentum shape the festive offerings at Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong. This Lunar New Year, the hotel presents a thoughtfully curated selection of seasonal treats, from handcrafted puddings and celebratory hampers to gift boxes created by the Hung Tong team, designed for both sharing at the table and gifting with intention.
The season is marked as a first gathering of spring, with guests invited to welcome the New Year through food that carries symbolism as much as flavour. A limited-time 25 per cent exclusive saving is available on selected festive goodies via Shangri-La Boutique.
Among the highlights is Shangri-La’s Jin Jun Mei Chinese New Year pudding signature gift box (HK$438), a new flavour developed for the season. Created in collaboration with artist Chen Fenwan, the packaging draws inspiration from a revolving lantern, its galloping horse motif reflecting vitality and new beginnings. The pudding itself blends premium Jin Jun Mei black tea with peach gum and coconut milk, resulting in a softly set texture and a lingering, gentle fragrance.
Hung Tong’s pandan pudding (HK$358) also returns after a warmly received debut last year. Made with fresh pandan leaves and coconut milk, it delivers a clean, aromatic sweetness with a supple, lightly chewy texture.
Completing the selection is Hung Tong’s deluxe conpoy turnip pudding (HK$388), a house classic shaped by careful proportion and restraint. Ken Yu selects quality turnips and combines them with conpoy, air-dried meats and dried shrimp to achieve depth without heaviness. When pan-fried, the exterior turns crisp while the centre remains tender and fragrant.

Hung Tong’s taro pudding (HK$388) is built around generous pieces of diced taro, folded through with Chinese air-dried meat, air-dried sausage and dried shrimp. A light touch of five-spice brings warmth without overpowering the dish, allowing the natural sweetness of the taro to carry through.
Equally rooted in tradition, the Hung Tong water chestnut pudding (HK$358) highlights the ingredient’s natural clarity and freshness. Made with carefully selected water chestnuts, it delivers a clean, gently sweet flavour and a crisp, refreshing texture, its translucent appearance revealing tender pieces suspended within.
Beyond puddings, Hung Tong introduces two Chinese New Year hampers for the season: the Blossoming Prosperity Hamper (HK$2,388) and the Chinese New Year Hamper (HK$1,800), each assembled with a considered selection of gourmet treats and festive confections. The gifting range is further complemented by newly launched seasonal gift boxes, including the Year of the Horse Luxe Treasure Gift Box (HK$428) and the Opulent Ruby Necklace Chocolate Gift Box (HK$328), alongside perennial favourites such as Champagne gift boxes (from HK$988) and sparkling tea in a variety of flavours (HK$58).
