A Complete Guide of Getting to Tokyo Downtown from Haneda Airport

In general, it will take roughly 30 minutes for the total journey time from Haneda Airport to Downtown Tokyo. Tokyo Monorail, Keikyu Railway and limousine bus are public transport services that are usually chosen by travellers.

The Tokyo Monorail is suggested if you are heading to places like Shinbashi, Tokyo Station, Akihabara and Ueno since it will take less time than other transportation options!
Also, the direct connection of Tokyo Monorail platform and Haneda Airport Terminal enables travellers to get access to the gateway of monorail timely. It only takes approximately 15 minutes to arrive at Hamamatsucho station by ariport rapid, then transfer to JR Yamanote Line or JR Keihin-Tohoku Line depending on your destination.
Before getting on the monorail, be aware of the three service types operate on the line below that are stopping at different stations. Yet, the fare is set as 490 yen if the train is bound for Hamamatsucho station.
Local Train: stops at every station, including Haneda Airport (all terminals), Tenkubashi station, Seibijo station, Showajima station, Ryutsu Center station, Oi Keibajo Mae station, Tennozu Isle station and Monorail Hamamatsucho station.

If you would like to transfer to JR Yamanote Line, it is recommended to purchase Monorail and Yamanote Line Discount Ticket for only 500yen which covers the fare from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho station and getting off anywhere on the JR Yamanote Line. In other words, by paying an extra 10 yen, you can ride on the JR Yamanote Line as well! Heading to JR stations like Tokyo, Akihabara and Ueno is particularly convenient from Hamamatsucho station!

The Keikyu Railway is recommended if you are heading to places in western Downtown Tokyo like Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro since it will take less time than other transportation options!
By Keikyu Railway, it only takes 20 minutes to arrive at Shinagawa station, the interchange station for other JR Yamanote Line, JR Keihin-Tohoku Line, JR Tokaido Main Line and Toei Asakusa Line. Due to the five types of train service operated by the Keikyu Railway, it is significant to check the service type available for your destination by below train line map. The fastest route to Shinagawa station is by Airport Limited Express from Haneda Airport Terminal 1・2 train, which only takes 12 minutes.
*Airport Limited Express only stops at main station. If you would like to get off at other stations, please look for the appropriate service type by Google or inquire ground staffs to avoid taking the wrong train.
The Keikyu Railway provides set discount tickets as well. it is common for travellers to purchase Tokyo Subway Ticket (24-72 hour) in advance at Keikyu Tourist Information Center (Haneda Airport Terminal 3), then take the Keikyu Railway to Sengakuji station to interchange the Tokyo subway.
