Move over Bella Hadid, these Asian stars have brought their A-game to this year’s Cannes red carpet. Despite a last-minute tightening of the dress code which banned voluminous, dramatic looks as well as trains and “naked dressing”, many have managed to toe the line and (somewhat) follow guidelines. Cannes veterans and newbies graced the carpet with confidence and flair wearing a selection of custom looks. Star of Kazuo Ishiguro’s ‘Pale View of Hills’ Yoh Yoshida turned heads in a stunning traditional kimono, and Zhou Ye was a picture of opulence in stacks of pearl and diamond chokers.

Here, Tatler has rounded up all the Asian stars making waves on the Cannes carpet this year.
