Chinese electric vehicle (EV) startup Xpeng launched its second production model, the P7, on Monday, aiming to challenge the upcoming Tesla Model 3.

The P7 sedan was launched in three versions and eight configurations, with the starting price of RMB 229,900 (USD 32,462). It boasts a maximum range of 706 kilometers per charge in some configurations, which gives the P7 the longest driving range of any EV vehicle in China, said the company, surpassing Tesla’s long-range version Model 3 which has a range of 668 kilometers. The Model 3 will be launched in June with a starting price of RMB 344,050 (USD 48,555).

The new P7 model is already available for order in China, and Xpeng said it will start deliveries by the end of June.
