Cordis, Hong Kong partners with Street Sign Hong Kong, a non-commercial platform dedicated to preserving the disappearing art of traditional shop signage, to present a striking showcase within Alibi – Wine Dine Be Social. The installation features ten Chinese characters crafted from a range of materials, thoughtfully placed throughout the venue’s contemporary interior.

From free-standing forms in galvanised steel, copper and metal to neon characters shaped from hand-blown glass and acrylic pieces displayed on wooden panels and shelving, each character tells a story. More than typographic art, they evoke the fading streetscapes of old Hong Kong, honouring generations of craftspeople and the neighbourhoods they helped define. It’s a quiet but powerful tribute to the city’s cultural fabric, framed by Alibi’s modern edge.

To complement the exhibition, Alibi’s mixology team has crafted a limited-edition cocktail menu inspired by the nostalgic flavours of Hong Kong’s beloved cha chaan tengs. Retro in spirit but modern in execution, the drinks pay homage to local classics with playful nods. Think Black Cow, White Cow and Not Important Lemon Fizz. Each sip offers guests another layer to the immersive, memory-laced journey through Hong Kong’s visual and cultural heritage.
