TEHRAN, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaeisaid on Monday that the latest proposal from the United States is not the outcome of the previous rounds of negotiations, and Iran will submit its proposal to the U.S. through Oman.

Speaking at a regular press briefing in Tehran, Baghaei stressed that any proposal failing to respect Iran's national rights, including its right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and effective sanctions relief, is unacceptable.

"I will not go into the details of these proposals at this stage," he said. "However, the so-called U.S. proposal does not reflect characteristics of active and reciprocal consultation based on commercial logic and the outcomes of earlier talks. It is not the result of previous rounds of negotiations."

Baghaei said Iran's forthcoming proposal would be "reasonable, logically sound, and balanced," urging the U.S. to consider it seriously. "Accepting this proposal serves the interests of the United States," he added.

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, the country is expected to formally respond to the U.S. proposal within the next two days. The response will be delivered in writing through diplomatic channels.

Since April, Iran and the United States have held five rounds of Omani-mediated indirect talks, three in the Omani capital Muscat and two in Rome, over Tehran's nuclear program and the possible lifting of U.S. sanctions.

The fifth round was held in Rome on May 23, and the sixth round is expected to be held in the coming days.

Recently, the United States has repeatedly demanded that Iran completely cease uranium enrichment, a request firmly rejected by Tehran. ■
