Electric vehicle maker Tesla has recently installed nine new Supercharger stations across Beijing, providing 78 new charging stalls, as it steps up to form an expansive charging network in China, automobile-focused media outlet Gasgoo reported.

The new addition brings the total number of Superchargers Tesla has built to 282 in the city, in addition to 106 destination chargers (a weaker type of station). Nationwide, more than 2,500 superchargers and 2,400 destination chargers have been installed by Tesla since 2014. The company plans to install at least 4,000 more chargers in China by the end of 2020.

In its expansion in China, Tesla opened a manufacturing base in Shanghai and the Shanghai-produced Tesla Model 3 reportedly had 11,364 registrations in May, up 173.63% month-over-month.
