BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Shenzhen FC winger Frank Acheampong has been suspended for four matches after he physically assaulted a Henan player in a Chinese Super League game.
In addition to the ban, the Ghanaian international was fined 40,000 RMB yuan, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) said in a statement on Tuesday.
Acheampong was dismissed after he hit Henan FC player Gu Cao in the 34th minute of the last Friday's match.
Gu was banned for two games and fined 20,000 RMB yuan for provoking Acheampong with insults, the CFA said.
Shenzhen side accused Gu of insulting Acheampong with racist remarks, which was firmly denied by the Henan club. ■
