LIMA, April 15 (Xinhua) -- China's Hu Kai extended his golden streak at the ISSF World Cup, capturing the men's 10m air pistol title at the Lima leg on Tuesday for his second consecutive World Cup victory this season.

The 23-year-old, who claimed gold at the Buenos Aires season opener two weeks ago, dominated from qualification in the event. Hu qualified second with 586 points to secure his final berth alongside compatriot Xie Yu (582).

In the final, Hu demonstrated composure from the opening shots and sealed the victory with a total of 246.4 points - a dominant 5.4-point margin over silver medalist Felipe Almeida Wu of Brazil. The winning score fell merely 0.1 points short of the world record.

Wu claimed silver with 241.0 points, while India's Saurabh Chaudhary completed the podium with 219.1 points. Xie finished fifth in the final.

Later in the day, Chinese shooters Yao Qianxun and Meng Yufei reached the women's 10m air pistol final. Yao delivered a bronze-medal performance with 219.5 points, while India's Suruchi Inder Singh (243.6) and Manu Bhaker (242.3) secured gold and silver respectively.

Competition continues on Wednesday with medal events in the 10m air pistol mixed team, men's and women's skeet. ■
