Swiss raclette over hot potatoes, warm fondue, the cosy aromatics of mulled wine—after a two-year hiatus, Black Sheep Restaurants is bringing back its beloved festive winter pop-up, Chalet des Alpes. The pop from December 16 to 29.
Housed in a new location in Soho, Chalet des Alpes channels the charm and romance of luxury lodges in Europe’s snow-capped Alpine villages. So dig out your daggiest cable-knit sweater—you know, the one you pulled out as soon as Hong Kong’s weather dipped below 25 degrees celsius—get your friends and loved ones together, and indulge in everyone’s favourite part of a ski holiday: the après.

Begin your evening with a warming winter cocktail at the bar—we recommend the creamy eggnog, the mulled wine, or both, it is the silly season after all—before moving on to dinner, a set menu of comforting dishes made to share.
Dinner starts with a classic charcuterie spread and salade de mâche, followed by Swiss raclette served melted over yellow potatoes, cornichons and pickled pearl onions. The next course arrives with a warning: guests must learn the dos and don’ts of the age-old Alpine tradition of fondue, and those who fumble will be subjected to a penalty—perhaps a round of drinks for your table, or an impromptu serenade.
Finally, the menu ends on a sweet note: chocolate tart served with Chantilly cream.
Black Sheep's resident sommeliers have curated the perfect roster of wines to suit Chalet des Alpes' menu, including Provence Rosé, Whispering Angel, Ruinart, Chandon Garden Spritz and a selection of French and Swiss labels.
But to make this dining experience extra merry, Black Sheep are waiving corkage until the end of the year so for every bottle purchased at the Chalet, guests can bring one at no extra cost. Santé!
