Kazakhstan's Alexey Lutsenko and Olga Zabelinskaya of Uzbekistan claimed the men's and women's road cycling individual time trial golds respectively at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
HANGZHOU, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Hangzhou Asian Games road cycling competition kicked off on Tuesday, with Kazakhstan's Alexey Lutsenko successfully defending his title in the men's individual time trial.
The 31-year-old, who had previously claimed the event's golds at Incheon 2014 and Jakarta 2018, finished with a time of 48 minutes and 5.75 seconds. China's Xue Ming secured the silver medal, and Lau Wan Yau of Hong Kong, China earned the bronze.
"Today's achievement was the main goal for this year, and I put in a lot of effort for it." The gold medalist also stated his readiness for the upcoming men's road race, hoping to win another gold.

The women's individual time trial covered a distance of 18.3 kilometers, and Olga Zabelinskaya of Uzbekistan claimed the gold medal with a remarkable time of 24 minutes and 35.99 seconds. Japan's Eri Yonamine earned the silver medal, and Kazakhstan's Rinata Sultanova secured the bronze.
The women's road race is set to unfold on Wednesday, with the men's road race on Thursday. ■
