俄羅斯克洛庫斯音樂廳（Crocus City Hall）3月22日晚發生恐襲，多名槍手闖入音樂廳亂槍掃射及縱火，官方數字顯示死亡人數增至133人，超過140人受傷，成為俄羅斯史上第二次最致命的恐怖襲擊。當局拘捕11人，包括4名外國槍手。極端組織伊斯蘭國承認發動襲擊，但俄羅斯總統普京（Vladimir Putin）則直指事件與烏克蘭有關。

普京周六（3月23日）發表全國電視講話，形容這宗是「血腥和野蠻的恐怖襲擊」，並宣布周日為全國哀悼日。他表示，4名被捕的槍手試圖往烏克蘭方向逃走，又指烏克蘭早已預備接應讓他們過境。對於極端組織伊斯蘭國承認發動襲擊，普京卻未有提及。
烏克蘭總統澤連斯基（Volodymyr Zelenskyy ）指責普京試圖將這次襲擊歸咎於烏克蘭。烏方批評俄羅斯的指控是蓄意挑釁，目的是煽動俄羅斯社會的反烏克蘭情緒。
已承認發動襲擊的伊斯蘭國（ISIS），早前發放參與襲擊的槍手照片，媒體亦發現相中兩名武裝分子的衣飾，與俄羅斯聯邦安全局（FSB）拘捕的兩人吻合。伊斯蘭國周六再發放一條新影片，可見其槍手進入音樂廳，並向人開槍。

俄新社發布其中一名疑犯的被捕的現場影片。該名疑犯雙手被綁，兩唇顫抖，跪在地上回答問題時表示，大約一個月前在Telegram意外收到陌生人信息，對方表示願意提供100萬盧布（約8.5萬港元）和武器，要求他按照指定地址，向人群發動襲擊。
他於3月4日從土耳其入境俄羅斯，他在片中報上名字及出生日期。這名25歲的疑犯被捕時已獲取一半酬勞50萬盧布的轉帳。另一片段顯示，一名男子被帶出森林，他的臉上沾滿向，似乎是耳朵受傷。
