Chinese shares close mixed Friday

BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.11 percent to 3,276.73 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.23 percent higher at 9,781.65 points.

The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 914.7 billion yuan (about 126.9 billion U.S. dollars), down from 999.5 billion yuan on the previous trading day.

Shares related to real estate and 5G sectors were among the biggest winners, while those related to tourism and dairy sectors emerged as the biggest losers.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.27 percent to close at 1,913.97 points. ■
