Jilin Northeast Tigers upset Guangzhou Loong Lions in CBA

Jilin take down Guangzhou in CBA.

QINGDAO, China, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The unstoppable combination of Jiang Yuxing and Sean Hill poured in 53 points, helping the Jilin Northeast Tigers upset the Guangzhou Loong Lions 98-95 in the 2019-2020 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season here on Tuesday.

Jilin mastered the game by hitting an 8-2 run at the beginning of the first quarter. Jiang Yuxing's long-range shot helped Jilin take the lead while Sean Hill's buzzer beater awarded Jilin a 48-47 advantage before the second half.

In the fourth quarter, Jiang scored seven straight points to help Jilin keep their edge and win the game.

Hill collected 29 points, Jiang finished with 24 points and seven rebounds. Dai Huaibo had 15 points, and Zhong Cheng added 14 points.

On the Guangzhou side, Marcus Georges-Hunt scored a game-high 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, Si Kun scored 14 points.

Jilin will play their last game before the playoffs with the Zhejiang Lions on Thursday, while Guangzhou will fight against the Xinjiang Flying Tigers.  ■
