BANGKOK, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Thai police convened an international meeting here on Wednesday to strengthen cooperation in the fight against cybercrime and human trafficking.

The meeting assessed the overall situation and focused on establishing effective coordination channels to combat call-center scams and provide support for victims.

The meeting discussed how to develop joint operational mechanisms, reviewed and improved repatriation procedures, emphasizing information sharing and strategic planning to combat cybercrime and human trafficking.

Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, senior inspector general of Thai police, highlighted the importance of the ongoing international cooperation, particularly in sharing post-repatriation investigation results to support victim identification and law enforcement efforts.

Thatchai also underscored Thailand's increased security measures along its borders to prevent criminal networks from using the kingdom as a transit route to or from neighboring states.■
