Bangkok ranks ninth on Time Out’s 2026 street food list

Bangkok has been ranked ninth on Time Out’s list of the world’s capitals with the best street food for 2026. Time Out is a global media and hospitality brand that serves as a city guide covering food, drink, nightlife, art and travel.

The cities ranked ahead of Bangkok, which scored 56%, are:

1. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – 63%

2. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 62%

3. Jakarta, Indonesia – 59%

4. Taipei, Taiwan – 59%

5. Mexico City, Mexico – 58%

6. Manila, Philippines – 58%

7. Hanoi, Vietnam – 57%

8. Johannesburg, South Africa – 56%

Time Out’s rankings are not based on the opinions of travel writers or tourists, but on recommendations from local journalists to help people discover the best experiences and hidden gems in hundreds of cities worldwide.

Responding to the latest rankings, Vietnamese media reported that this was the first time Ho Chi Minh City had surpassed Bangkok and Singapore to top the list.
