Pheu Thai party invited to join Bhumjaithai coalition
Prasert Jantararuangtong, the Pheu Thai party’s secretary-general, said today that they have been invited by the Bhumjaithai party for a meeting this afternoon to discuss the two parties joining the coalition government.
He said that the Pheu Thai party has no reservations vis-à-vis any party and can work with any of them for the utmost benefit of the people.
Prasert, Suriya Juangroongruangkit and Phumtham Wechayachai will represent the Pheu Thai party in the talks on joining a Bhumjaithai-led coalition.
Micro parties, namely Economic, Mai, New Democracy and Palang Puangchon, have voiced support for Anutin’s prime ministerial candidacy, while the Palang Pracharath party said it is waiting for an invitation from the Bhumjaithai party.
According to unofficial poll results from the EC, the Bhumjaithai party won 193 House seats and the Pheu Thai party won 74.
A coalition government will need at least 251 House seats to enjoy a simple majority in the House, which the Pheu Thai party could provide.
