Gunmen attack police station in Yala

Insurgents launched an armed attack on Lam Mai Police Station in Mueang district of Yala province in southern Thailand this morning, triggering an ongoing clash with security forces. No casualties have been reported so far.

The attack occurred when an unknown number of assailants, armed with automatic weapons, opened fire at the back of the police station, located in Lam Mai sub-district.

Police officers stationed at the facility immediately returned fire, leading to a prolonged exchange of gunfire between security forces and the perpetrators.

Authorities have cordoned off the surrounding area.

Official reports confirm that no injuries or fatalities had been recorded by the time of this report.
