Survivors of Hormuz ship attack arrive in Bangkok as three still missing
Twenty crew members of a Thai vessel damaged in an attack last week near the Strait of Hormuz arrived in Bangkok this morning, while the search for three missing crew members continues.
They were welcomed at Suvarnabhumi Airport by their families and officials.
The crew was assisted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, which coordinated their return through the Thai embassies in Muscat, Abu Dhabi and the Thai consulate general in Dubai.
According to the ministry, the crew travelled by land from Khasab in Oman to Muscat International Airport, after being rescued from the stricken Mayuree Naree last Wednesday, before boarding a flight to Thailand.
The diplomatic missions helped to facilitate entry procedures and handled related arrangements to ensure the crew could travel safely from Muscat back to Thailand.
The ministry also expressed its appreciation to the authorities in Oman and the United Arab Emirates for their cooperation in supporting the operation.
Meanwhile, Thai authorities say the search for the three missing crew members is ongoing.
