เหยื่อท่วมเกาะสุมาตราพุ่ง - รอยเตอร์ รายงานวันที 7 ธ.ค. ว่า ยอดผู้เสียชีวิตจากน้ำท่วมและดินถล่มบนใน 3 จังหวัดบนเกาะสุมาตราของ อินโดนีเซีย รวมถึงจังหวัดอาเจะห์ เพิ่มเป็นอย่างน้อย 916 ราย และยังสูญหายอีก 274 ราย

ด้านกลุ่มอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมกล่าวว่าการตัดไม้ทำลายป่าที่เชื่อมโยงกับอุตสาหกรรมเหมืองทำให้ผลกระทบของน้ำท่วมในครั้งนี้ทวีความรุนแรงขึ้น
