Gasohol 95, diesel prices rise amid energy crisis
Prices of most finished petroleum products will increase tomorrow, by 50 satang per litre for diesel (B7) and one baht per litre for gasohol 95.
The price of diesel (B7), or biodiesel, will be capped at 33 baht per litre, up from 30 baht per litre, which had been the cap for more than two years.
The price increase was endorsed at a meeting of the Joint Management and Monitoring Centre for the Situation in the Middle East today, in response to the current energy crisis triggered by the war in the region.
Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, who chaired the meeting, told a press conference that the centre will also make public the ex-refinery and ex-oil depot prices.
He said that oil refineries will increase production of B10 and, in particular, B20 biodiesel to support the transport, agricultural and construction sectors. He added that B10 and B20 are new finished products that are cheaper than the current diesel price.
B10 contains 10 percent palm oil and will be two baht per litre cheaper, while B20 biodiesel will be five baht per litre cheaper than B7 biodiesel.
The price of E10 benzine, or gasohol 95, will increase by one baht per litre tomorrow, while the price of E20 benzine will drop by 79 satang per litre, making it five baht per litre cheaper than E10 benzine or gasohol 95.
E10 benzine contains 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent benzine.
