Bangkok governor, Pattaya polls set for June 28
The Election Commission of Thailand has set June 28 for elections for Bangkok governor, Pattaya mayor, and members of the Bangkok and Pattaya councils.
Applications for candidacy in the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Pattaya City administration will be accepted from May 28 to June 1.
Prospective candidates can visit the EC’s website at www.ect.go.th or call its hotline at 1444 for details on qualifications and application procedures.
The incumbent Bangkok governor, Chadchart Sittipunt, ran as an independent and won a landslide victory with 1.38 million votes on May 22, 2022. He has not yet announced whether he will seek a second term.
