Bangkok covered with health-threatening levels of PM2.5 dust today
Almost the entire city of Bangkok today is in covered with PM2.5 airborne pollution, exceeding the standard level of 37.5µg/m³, the Air Quality Information Centre of Bangkok Metropolitan reported.
The average level of PM2.5 across the capital is 43.3µg/m³, with the highest being 62.5µg/m³ in Bang Rak district.
The 12 districts with PM2.5 levels higher than the average today are:
· Bang Rak, 62.5µg/m³
· Pathumwan, 60.1µg/m³
· Chatuchak, 52.9µg/m³
· Sathorn, 52.2µg/m³
· Lat Krabang, 51.2µg/m³
· Nong Khaem, 50µg/m³
· Ratchathewi, 49.5µg/m³
· Klong Sam Wa, 48.1µg/m³
· Bang Sue, 47.9µg/m³
· Prawet, 47.8µg/m³
· Min Buri, 46.8µg/m³
· Bang Khor Laem, 46.7µg/m³
The Air Quality Information Centre says that the air quality in Bangkok is starting to pose a threat to health and are advising the public in general to wear face masks when outdoors and to limit their exercise or other outdoor activities.
