Pheu Thai announces PM candidates, Shinawatra family still in play

The announcement was made during a forum at the party’s headquarters, titled “Rebuilding Thailand: Pheu Thai Can Do It”.
As Yodchanan’s name was announced first, he would become prime minister if Pheu Thai emerges as the core party in forming a government after the February 8 general election.
Yodchanan is a nephew of imprisoned former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra as he is the son of former prime minister Somchai Wongsawat and Yaowapa Wongsawat, Thaksin’s elder sister.
Julapun outlined the party’s urgent policy agenda, claiming that a Pheu Thai led administration would “build a better tomorrow and ensure people have food, income, dignity and self-respect.”
