Prasat Ta Khwai ruins in Surin province open for public visits on trial basis

The Second Army Region and the Surin provincial administration opened a historical tourism and study route so visitors can tour the Prasat Ta Khwai ancient ruins and Mount 350 in Phanom Dongrak district of Surin province today and Sunday, and on June 13 and 14, on a trial basis.

The walking route is about 2.9km long along, from which visitors will get a glimpse of Prasat Ta Khwai, a monument in honour of fallen soldiers, and a Buddha statue.

The move is intended to promote the study of one chapter of contemporary Thai history, to enable visitors to cherish the Khmer-era ancient ruins and the natural beauty of the surrounding areas and to commemorate the soldiers who fell during the war with Cambodian forces to in December last year.
