เวียดนามคึกคักเลือกตั้ง! - วันที่ 15 มี.ค. รอยเตอร์ รายงานว่า ชาวเวียดนามหลายสิบล้านคนเดินทางไปลงคะแนนเสียงเลือกตั้งสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร กันอย่างคึกคัก การเลือกตั้งซึ่งจัดขึ้นทุกๆ 5 ปีมีผู้มีสิทธิ 73.5 ล้านคนถึง 79 ล้านคนเลือกสมาชิกสภาแห่งชาติ 500 คนและผู้แทนสภาท้องถิ่น

โดยผู้สมัครรับเลือกตั้งสภาผู้แทนราษฎรเกือบร้อยละ 93 จากทั้งหมด 864 คนเป็นสมาชิกพรรคคอมมิวนิสต์เวียดนาม ขณะที่ร้อยละ 7.5 เป็นผู้สมัครจากพรรคอิสระ ลดลงจากร้อยละ 8.5 ในปี 2564

ถือเป็นการรับประกันว่าพรรคคอมมิวนิสต์เวียดนามซึ่งปกครองประเทศโดยไม่มีคู่แข่งมานานหลายทศวรรษและปัจจุบันมีที่นั่งในสภามากถึงร้อยละ 97 จะยังครองอำนาจบริหารอย่างท่วมท้นต่อไป

รัฐสภาแบบสภาเดียวแทบไม่มีอำนาจในการท้าทายการตัดสินใจที่สำคัญของพรรค รวมถึงเรื่องการแต่งตั้งบุคลากร สำหรับผลการเลือกตั้งอย่างเป็นทางการจะประกาศในวันที่ 23 มี.ค. ขณะที่สำนักข่าวของรัฐบาลรายงานว่าอัตราการใช้สิทธิ์เลือกตั้งเกินร้อยละ 99 ในการเลือกตั้งรัฐสภา 7 ครั้งที่ผ่านมา
