Registration of party-list, PM candidates ahead of general election

Representatives of 52 political parties gathered at the Centara LifeGovernment Complex Hoteland ConventionCentrethis morning, in the compound of the government complex, to register lists of their party-list and prime ministerial candidates.

The Bhumjaithai party was represented by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also the party’s leader, along with Chaichanok Chidchob, Varawut Silpa-archa, Supamas Isarabhakdi and Akanat Promphan.

The Pheu Thai party was represented by party leader Yodchanan Wongsawat, Julapun Amornvivat and Suriya Juangroongruangkit, their first prime ministerial candidate.

All the parties drew lots for party numbers, which will be used in election campaigning and on ballot sheets.

The party numbers are as follows:

Meanwhile, the Election Commission reported today that 3,092 constituency candidates registered yesterday to contest the elections in 77 provinces.

In Bangkok, 449 candidates registered yesterday to contest the polls in 33 constituencies, with Constituency 23, which covers Bang Na and Phra Khanong districts, and Constituency 30, which covers Bang Khae and Phasi Charoen districts, each having 17 registered candidates.

Registration of constituency candidates is open until December 31st.
