Five opposition parties to work together to keep checks on government

Five opposition parties have declared that they will work together to keep a check on the performance of the government.

Representatives of the five parties, including People’s party leader Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, Bhumjaithai party leader Anutin Charnvirakul, Thai Sang Thai party leader Sudarat Keyuraphan, Fair party secretary-general Kannavee Suebsang and Chakart Pattanakitvibul, deputy leader of Palang Pracharath, met for the first time today in parliament.

Opposition leader Natthaphong said that the meeting was held to find the common ground on which they can work together, adding that the People’s party will not interfere with the other opposition parties and respects their differences.

Anutin said this is the first time that his Bhumjaithai party will perform its duty in opposition, adding that it will do its best to monitor and check the performance of the government.

Khunying Sudarat said she welcomes the inclusion of Bhumjaithai, which will strengthen the opposition at a time when the country is facing many critical challenges.

Kannavee said the Fair party has been clear from day one about its role in opposition.
