Serial cyanide poisoner sentenced to life on third murder conviction
Thailand’s worst serial killer, Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, aka ‘Am Cyanide’, was sentenced to life imprisonment again today.
In February this year, she was sentenced to life for the murder by cyanide of Pol Maj Nipa Saengchan in Nakhon Pathom in 2023. On November 20, 2024, she was convicted for the murder by cyanide poisoning of Siriporn Khanwong in Ratchaburi province.
In the third murder case today, the Criminal Court found Sararat guilty of the premediated murder of Pol. Cpt. Kanda Torai, a former inspector of Saiyok district police in Kanchanaburi, also by cyanide poisoning on August 9, 2022. The victim was found dead behind the wheel of her car.
Initially, the court sentenced her to death, but commuted the sentence to life for her useful testimony.
Another 11 murder cases are pending against her.
