Countdown 2025: It’s time to party

As 2024 draws to a close, Bangkok will play host to a string of mega New Year's Eve parties that will solidify its position as one of the leading destinations in the world for New Year revelers. From brilliant fireworks and energetic music festivals to unforgettable performances, the Thai capital is sure to welcome 2025 with a bang.

A Night on the Chao Phraya River

One of the most highly-awaited events will be held at ICONSIAM. The “Amazing Thailand Countdown 2025” will lead the city’s celebrations from 29 to 31 December headlined by a star-studded performance lineup featuring global music icon Lisa (Lalisa Manobal) along the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

Sharing the stage with her are Chinese singer and actor Wei Zhe Ming and several popular Thai artists. It should be a night to remember as international and Thai flavors come together in perfect harmony.

The evening will be graced with the longest eco-friendly fireworks along the river in Thailand, stretching 1,400 meters. Designed by an award-winning Japanese fireworks director, the explosion of colors in the night sky will be a fascinating sight to behold, paying honor to the “Everlasting Legacy of Siam.”

Next to the Grand Palace and across from the Temple of Dawn, Nakaraphirom Park is holding its own New Year’s event from December 29-31. The event has two themes, “A Land of Smiles” and “A Paradise to Explore.” Expect eco-friendly workshops, local delicacies from food stalls, and cultural performances.

It also features a floating stage on the river for musical acts, including an appearance by the River Symphony Orchestra against the beautiful backdrop of the water.

The event concludes with a fireworks display on the concept “Celebrating the Everlasting Legacy of Siam”, accompanied by a seven-minute multimedia show , making for a dramatic finale that celebrates Thailand's rich cultural diversity.

On January 1, visitors can participate in a merit-making ceremony at Wat Arun, where more than 60 monks will receive alms, beginning the new year with a goodwill tradition.

Further along the river, the “Chang Music Connection presents ASIATIQUE Thailand Countdown 2025” is for those who love a rock 'n' roll atmosphere on December 31.

Under the concept “Rock & Luck: Lucky New Year, Rocking the End of the Year,” the event will feature performances by some of Thailand's biggest rock bands, including Big Ass, Cocktail, and Getsunova.

International acts, such as the Japanese show OneN'Only will also participate, while a “Chao Phraya Jump Up” night will be punctuated with fireworks that streak across the night sky above the river.

Asia’s Times Square

For those who want to party with energy and vigor, an iconic countdown awaits at CentralWorld on December 31st. The venue, called the “Times Square of Asia,” will be hosting performances by the top Thai artists such as PP Krit, Billkin, and Ice Paris.

To add some bling to the night, the event will also be hosting a display of Merry Ville 2025 Christmas trees. The evening will be topped off with a great fireworks display, making CentralWorld one of the best places in town to celebrate the New Year.

Out of town, Neon Countdown 2025 at Wonder World Extreme Park on the outskirts of Bangkok will offer a high-octane New Year countdown party for fans of electronic music.

The event on December 30 and 31 features headline acts by renowned DJs Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

Known for its immersive atmosphere, the Neon Countdown will combine electrifying beats, stunning light displays, and a vibrant festival ambiance. The event caters to an adult crowd and offers both general and premium tickets, along with food and beverage options throughout the festival.

Beyond Bangkok

The Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai has transformed into a year-end celebration venue as part of the “Amazing Chiang Mai Countdown 2025”.

Running since December 21 and continuing through New Year’s Eve, it will feature a very special display under the concept of “Illumidestination: When the

Last Light Meets the First Light of the Year.”

The Illumination Lighting garden is without doubt the most attractive feature of the festival, with beautiful light displays to be marveled at while sampling local foods and participating in craft activities.

The event also features cultural performances and mini concerts by top artists, including BamBam of GOT7.

Adding to the light art, a fireworks show will illuminate the night sky in the countdown to 2025. The astrological beginning of the new year awaits with a special “Moo Dee Moo Deng” fortune-telling experience.

A blend of entertainment and tradition, admission to the event is free from 5pm daily, and more information can be found on the Amazing Thailand Facebook page.

For a more casual but equally thrilling experience, the Hua Hin Beach Countdown 2025 happens on 31 December on the beach, in front of InterContinental Hua Hin Resort. It presents special live performances by Yugyeom of GOT7; Perses from Thai pop group THAILAND; and as a DJ, the outstanding P-U.

This beachfront party starts at 7pm and will offer an unforgettable way to usher in the new year with live music, an energetic atmosphere, and the beautiful backdrop of the beach.
