ISOC05 Leads Media Visit to Thailand’s Deep South
ISOC Region 5 Organises Media Familiarisation Visit to Thailand's Southern Border Provinces
The Fifth Operations Coordination Center of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC05) is organising the first media visit under its 2026 programme from 4-6 August 2026. Led by Lieutenant General Prasert Muadjienga, Director of ISOC05, the programme brings together approximately 30 journalists from national media organisations, media influencers and relevant officials for a field visit to Songkhla and Pattani provinces.
The three-day programme is designed to provide journalists with first-hand insight into the situation in Thailand's Southern Border Provinces through direct engagement with government agencies and local communities. Participants will receive briefings on security operations while observing development initiatives that focus on job creation, improving livelihoods, community development, agricultural tourism and promoting peaceful coexistence in a multicultural society.
The programme begins in Songkhla Province with a visit to Sadao Customs House, followed by visits to Wat Na Thawi and the Bahoi Subdistrict Administrative Organization to learn about the Bahoi Model. The itinerary also includes a visit to a Robusta Coffee Community Enterprise in Saba Yoi District, showcasing a successful example of community-based economic development and livelihood promotion.
The programme will then continue to Pattani Province, where participants will receive a briefing on the mission of the Ranger Forces operating in Thailand's Southern Border Provinces at Nong Chik District. The delegation will also visit the Peace Outreach Division of the Peace Center under the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Forward Command to learn about its initiatives in community engagement, public communication and public participation in support of sustainable peace in the region.
In addition to official briefings, journalists will visit local communities to observe development initiatives and engage with frontline personnel and local residents. The field visit will provide a broader understanding of economic and social development, livelihood promotion, community empowerment and multicultural coexistence, demonstrating how development efforts complement security operations in advancing lasting peace across Thailand's Southern Border Provinces.
