New Cabinet line-up officially announced after granting of Royal assent

The new cabinet line-up, which sees Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra add another portfolio, as culture minister, was announced in a Royal Command issued yesterday. The new cabinet ministers, including those who change positions, are scheduled to take an oath before His Majesty the King on Thursday.

According to the new line-up:

· Phumtham Wechayachai becomes deputy prime minister and interior minister.

· Narumon Pinyosinwat, former agriculture minister, moves to education.

· Suchart Tancharoen becomes PM’s Office minister.

· Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, former culture minister, moves to become minister of higher education, science, research and innovations.

· Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn becomes the agriculture minister.

· Jatuporn Buruspat is commerce minister.

· Chantawit Tantasith becomes the deputy commerce minister.

· Dech-it Khaothong, former deputy public health, moves to deputy interior minister.

· Pongkawin Juangroongruangkit becomes the labour minister.

· Linthiporn Warinwachararoj becomes deputy education minister.

· Tewan Liptapallop becomes the deputy education minister.

· Anucha Sasomsap becomes deputy public health minister.

· Chaichana Detdecho becomes deputy public health minister.

New faces in the cabinet are:

· Suchart Tancharoen

· Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn

· Jatuporn Buruspat

· Chantawit Tantasith

· Pongkawin Juangroongruangkit

· Linthiporn Warinwachararoj

· Tewan Liptapallop

· Anucha Sasomsap

No new defence minister was appointed to replace Phumtham. Current deputy minister of defence, Gen Nattaphon Nakphanit will become the acting minister.

Ministers excluded from the new line-up include former Commerce Minister Pichai Naripthaphan and former Deputy Agriculture Minister Itthi Sirilatthayakorn.

Ministers whose names are not mentioned in the new line-up, except those of the Bhumjaithai party, remain in their posts.

Among them are:

· Suriya Juangroongruangkit, deputy prime minister and transport minister

· Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, deputy prime minister and energy minister

· Pichai Chunhavajira, deputy prime minister and finance minister

· Prasert Chantararuangthong, deputy prime minister and digital economy and society.

· Akanat Promphan, industry minister

· Tawee Sodsong, justice minister

· Sorawong Thienthong, tourism and sports minister

· Varawut Silpa-archa, social development and human security

· Chalermchai Srion, minister of natural resources and environment

· Somsak Thepsuthin, public health minister

· Maris Sangiampongsa, foreign minister
