Huge warehouse fire in Bangkok

A warehouse in Bangkok’s Bang Po area, storing a vast quantity of wood and processed wood products was razed to the ground by fire today.

The cause of the inferno remains under investigation, but police say that, being the weekend, no one was in the warehouse at the time of the blaze in Pracharat Sai Soi 1 in Bang Sue district.

Fire trucks and emergency teams rushed to the scene and it took them about three hours to get the fire under control.

Police cordoned off the warehouse, located on a 0.64 hectare plot of land. No one was killed or injured.

‘Sathit’, the proprietor of Buan Chiang Thai Limited Partnership, which stored its products in the warehouse, said that everything was destroyed.

Although they are insured, he said that compensation expected from the insurance company will not cover the losses incurred in the fire.
