Senior Air Force officer transferred over alleged misuse of junior as delivery rider

The Air Force Commander-in-Chief has ordered the immediate transfer of a deputy battalion commander in Udon Thani province, pending an investigation into accusations that he ordered a soldier to work as a delivery driver and pocketed the majority of fees he collected.

Air Force spokesman Air Marshall Prapas Sornjaidee said the transfer is intended to facilitate the investigation and the commander of Wing 23 in Udon Thani has now set up a fact-finding committee.

If the deputy battalion commander is found guilty as accused, he will face serious disciplinary action.

The matter came to light after the soldier filed complaints with the media, alleging that his deputy commander, in January, ordered him to use his personal car to work as a delivery driver, giving him only 10% of the income generated.

Initially, he worked as a driver in Udon Thani but, in February, he was ordered to relocate to Bangkok, where he was allegedly told to earn a minimum of 3,000 baht per day.
