Celebrate "THAI SONGKRAN" in the Heart of HOLLYWOOD The 16th Annual Thai New Year Songkran Festival Returns in Grand Style.
Los Angeles, CA – The Thai New Year Songkran Festival is set to return for its 16th consecutive year, bringing the rich culture and festive spirit of Thailand to the streets of Hollywood. Organized by the Thai community in Los Angeles, the event will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., spanning a six-block stretch of Hollywood Boulevard between Western Avenue and Normandie Avenue.
Supported by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Chang Beer, and WBC Muaythai, this vibrant celebration aims to showcase Thailand’s cultural heritage on the international stage. The event is expected to draw tens of thousands of visitors and generate over $1 million in economic activity.
The festival embraces Thailand’s soft power through the “5Fs” concept:
- Food – A diverse selection of Thai cuisine and beverages, along with live cooking demonstrations, will be featured.
- Festival – Traditional performances, a stunning parade, and Buddhist activities will take center stage. Ten Thai temples from across California will host interactive booths for merit-making and Songkran blessings.
- Film – Evening outdoor screenings will highlight the beauty of Thai cinema.
- Fight – Live demonstrations of Muay Thai, Thailand’s national martial art, will be held throughout the day.
- Fashion – Attendees will enjoy access to unique Thai fashion and handicrafts, with highlights including fashion shows and exhibitions.
This year, the festival also focuses on promoting Thai craftsmanship and community-based economic development. In partnership with Thai Beverage Public Company Limited and Pracharath Rak Samakkee Social Enterprise (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the event will feature traditional handwoven textiles from Chiang Mai, Nan, and Nong Bua Lamphu—showcased through fashion shows, the parade, and the Miss Thai USA 2025 competition.
Additional attractions include live music, traditional Thai massage experiences, and cultural exhibitions that continue to resonate with international audiences. With increased interest from content creators and media influencers, the event aims to enhance Thailand’s global visibility and attract more tourists to the Kingdom.
